Both sides discussed bilateral relations and recent regional issues, particularly Pakistan’s violation of Afghanistan’s territorial integrity.
Reiterating the IEA’s principled position, FM Muttaqi said that Afghanistan does not support war & that it was Pakistan which initiated war by violating Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
Additionally, he said that talks are being held in Doha yesterday led by the IEA-Defense Minister with the Pakistani side, & Afghanistan awaits the outcome with respect.
Welcoming the start of dialogue between the two sides, Iranian Foreign Minister stressed on resolving the issue through diplomacy.
Dr. Araghchi expressed readiness to assist in resolving the matter through negotiations, which was appreciated by Minister Muttaqi, assuring that discussions are underway.
